I won’t repeat what you will discover as you listen and read, but I will say that when I was in eighth grade we had a school assignment to create a presentation of poetry of a specific nation. I felt little enthusiasm until I decided to present Native American poetry. Once I was inspired, I happily explored the Native poems available to me at that time, given the resources available in the 1970’s. I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed an English assignment more.
